Just two shows into Rage Against the Machine’s long-delayed reunion tour, vocalist Zack de la Rocha appears to be injured. Last night (July 11) in Chicago, he played most of the set seated and was carried off the stage.

The injury occurred on just four songs on the show at the United Center, reports Consequence† He was helped off stage by crew members and returned after a break and played the rest of the show sitting on a monitor. When he stood up for a moment, he seemed unable to put any weight on his leg.

“I don’t know what happened to my leg right now,” said the singer. “Sit up, but you know what? We’re going to carry on with this fucking shit. I can crawl all over this stage. We’re going to play for all of you tonight.”

At the end of the show, de la Rocha hugged each of his bandmates before being carried off the stage by crew members.
