According to the name, the new Corsair HS65 Surround Wired Gaming Headset is a wired gaming headset whose one of the main features is the quality of surround. As a brand, Corsair is definitely at the top of the PC space, so it’s great to see this also works a treat when plugged into a PlayStation 5.
From its detailed surround to comfort and iCue software support, the new Corsair HS65 Surround Wired Gaming Headset certainly ticks a lot of the right boxes. And sometimes it’s just good to go back to a wired headset, if only to realize that there are so many extras in a wireless option that you can forget there are lightweight affordable wired headsets. Things that can perform when it comes to both sound quality and versatility.
Firstly, the included USB-DAC connection/adapter ensures that PC performance is uniform across any number of devices, with the added benefit of not having the ‘Surround’ in the product title muffled by a, well, bad sound card. This adapter can then be set aside when connecting to a console like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X (or smartphone or Nintendo Switch) to take advantage of things like Sony’s Tempest 3D Audio or a Dolby Atmos subscription. Or whatever console surround you like.
