Man Utd in ‘£51m Antony BID’, Frenkie de Jong transfer delay explained, Cristiano Ronaldo given permission to leave club

Good morning Man Utd fans

Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong is not for sale, according to club president Joan Laporta.

De Jong has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, but now the transfer appears dead in the water after Laporta’s latest comments.

Unveiling new signing Franck Kessie, he said: “Frenkie is not for sale. He is a Barcelona player.

“We don’t want to transfer him.”

Meanwhile, United are poised to finalize “final paperwork” for Ajax star Lisandro Martinez.

It looks like the Red Devils have finally come out on top for Arsenal in the Martinez race, which is valued at around £40 million.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, it is only a “matter of time” until the deal is finalized.

Galetti also reports that final paperwork has yet to be done, but the deal will be sealed “soon”.

And United may have to wait another month before attempting to sign Ajax star Antony again.

A deal could be difficult as the winger is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained in March.

According to the AD, the Eredivisie champions are unwilling to sell the Brazilian international, so they are demanding at least £65 million for his services.

The Manchester giants would be reluctant to pay that amount, but club chiefs are still considering a future offer.

Finally, United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo failed to show up for the third time after announcing he wanted to leave.

Ronaldo has been given extra time off by the heads of United for family reasons.

The star striker was initially scheduled to return on Monday, along with the rest of his teammates who were given extra time off after international duty.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is still nowhere to be seen for the third day in a row.

The Portuguese skipper has been training since then at his country’s national training ground in Lisbon
