Elon Musk tries to bail for Twitter purchase


Elon Musk, owner of Tesla and SpaceX, no longer wants to buy Twitter, the social media platform that has been a major forum for game discourse, memes and excuses written in white text on a black background for more than a decade.

Musk would pay $54.20 a share for Twitter, which amounts to $43.4 billion, but Twitter’s share price has fallen to $36.81 since the deal was signed in April. That’s a fact Musk hopes will help him out. A letter (opens in new tab) Sent to Twitter’s attorneys by Musk’s attorneys, Twitter’s “recent financial performance and revised outlook” could be a valid reason to cancel the purchase.
