Are “The Boys” Getting More Soldier Boy?

On the third season of Amazon’s hit series “The Boys,” “Supernatural” alum Jensen Ackles joined as the grizzled, PTSD-riddled Soldier Boy.

The finale saw the character seemingly defeated and returned to cryogenic stasis. That leaves the door open for the actor and character to ever return.

Speaking to EW, showrunner Eric Kripke says there could be more Soldier Boy in the future:

“The old TV adage is like, never kill anyone unless you really, really have to. Never close a door, never open a window. We’ll all have to wait and see, but I can’t imagine the series ending without Soldier Boy appears again.”

Ackles, who worked with Kripke on “Supernatural” for five years, says he’s generally aware of what Kripke does with his characters, but doesn’t know if he’ll return until they want him:

“I know Kripke is very smart about how he sends his characters away, because he can always bring them back. So I know there are plans in negotiation, but I’m not sure what they are. But I said to Krip, ‘Look , man, put me in any time. You tell me when to come run, I’ll run.’”

It has also been confirmed via Deadline that some elements of the college spinoff will be picked up and carried over to the show’s fourth season, just as that spinoff will feature elements of the third season of “The Boys” in the background. .

“The Boys” will begin shooting the fourth season in August. The full third season is now available on Amazon Prime.
